CARE GUIDE

At Eden & Co, our jewellery is crafted with care from the highest quality precious metals, including gold, platinum and a variety of materials. These materials are chosen for their beauty, value, and longevity. However, it is important to understand that fine jewellery is not indestructible.

All precious metals are softer than everyday materials such as steel, concrete, and stone. For this reason, jewellery can scratch, dent, tarnish, or break if it is not cared for properly. This guide provides you with the essential knowledge to keep your jewellery looking its best and to protect it from unnecessary damage.

Please note: Signs of wear are normal and expected. Scratches, tarnish, and changes in finish occur naturally over time and are not considered faults. By following this guide, you will extend the life of your jewellery, maintain its appearance, and protect your investment.

EVERYDAY WEAR

To maintain the finish and integrity of your jewellery, we recommend removing all pieces before showering, swimming, exercising, cleaning, or sleeping. Heat, moisture, and chemical exposure can affect both precious metals and stone settings over time.

Avoid contact with chlorine, salt water, soaps, cosmetics, perfumes, and hair products, as these substances may dull finishes, alter surface treatments, or weaken settings. Damp environments—such as bathrooms—should be avoided for both wear and storage.

Handle jewellery with care and protect it from impact. Rings are especially exposed during daily activities and may be affected by knocks against hard surfaces. Wearing multiple rings together can increase friction and long-term surface wear, particularly around stone settings.

STORING YOUR JEWELLERY

When not in use, store each Eden & Co piece individually in its original jewellery box or soft pouch. Separate storage helps prevent scratching, tangling, and metal-on-metal abrasion while protecting jewellery from light exposure and environmental moisture.

Avoid storing jewellery loosely or stacked together, as this may cause unnecessary wear over time. Proper storage is essential for preserving the finish and structure of fine jewellery.

CLEANING YOUR JEWELLERY

For routine at-home care, gently clean your jewellery using warm water and a mild, detergent-free soap. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.

To maintain long-term condition, we recommend professional cleaning and inspection once per year. Jewellery featuring gemstones, diamonds, or intricate settings should always be cleaned and checked by a qualified jeweller to ensure stones remain secure and settings uncompromised.

CHAINS AND BRACELETS

Open and close clasps gently and without force. Avoid pulling, bending, or twisting chains and bracelets, as this can weaken links or clasps over time.

When storing, ensure chains are fully untangled and laid flat in a pouch or jewellery box to prevent kinks or breakage.

EARRINGS

Eden & Co earrings are crafted from solid gold, platinum, and other premium precious metals. As with all fine jewellery, individual sensitivities may occur depending on skin type, environment, or wear habits. If irritation develops, we recommend removing the earrings and allowing the skin to settle before wearing again. For persistent sensitivity, consult a professional for guidance.

METALS

Eden & Co jewellery is crafted using high-quality precious metals, including solid gold, platinum, and other precious metals selected for durability, comfort, and long-term wear.

Gold

Solid gold is highly durable and well suited to everyday wear. Over time, surface marks may develop depending on lifestyle and frequency of use. These marks are a natural result of wear and are not considered defects.

Gold can be professionally polished or refinished if desired. Slight variations in tone or finish after servicing are normal and reflect the individuality of each piece.

Platinum & Other Precious Metals

Platinum is a dense and durable precious metal that develops a soft patina over time rather than losing material. This patina is considered a hallmark of platinum wear and can be polished if a brighter finish is preferred.

Other precious metals used by Eden & Co may age differently depending on wear patterns and daily use. Subtle surface changes are expected over time and are considered part of the natural ageing process of fine jewellery.

STONES AND PEARLS

All Eden & Co stones are responsibly sourced and selected for quality and character. Natural stones vary in colour, pattern, and hardness, making each piece unique.

Although gemstones are suitable for regular wear, they may chip or fracture if struck against hard surfaces. Jewellery should never be forced, bent, or resized improperly. Rings, cuffs, and pieces set with gemstones must not be pressed out of shape, as this can weaken settings and increase the risk of stone loss.

Jewellery with stones set around the full band requires additional care due to exposure on all sides. We recommend annual professional inspections for all jewellery containing stones, particularly multi-stone designs.

Pearl Jewellery Care

Pearls are organic gemstones and require special care. They are sensitive to chemicals, heat, dryness, water and impact. Avoid exposure to perfumes, cosmetics, hair products, cleaning agents, and prolonged contact with water.

Pearl jewellery should always be put on last when dressing and removed first. Store pearls separately in a soft pouch to prevent scratching, and avoid airtight containers, as pearls benefit from natural airflow.

To clean pearls, gently wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth only. Never use abrasive materials or chemical cleaners. Professional cleaning is recommended when required.
